Reading Highlights – September 2018

A few days ago, I asked my followers on Twitter if they would be interested in me doing a monthly blog post about what I’ve read and liked each month. Not surprisingly, since most of them are bookish people, they were interested, so here I am!

I haven’t read that many books this month, but what I’ve read I’ve really liked! So here you have some recommendations:

Erik the Pink, by Matthew J Metzger

It wasn’t the first time I read this, since I’d done sensitivity reading for its Spanish main character. I’d already liked the story then, but I LOVED the final version. It’s fluffy, it’s lovely, and it’s full of amazing characters. If you’re looking to read more fiction with trans characters, go pick this one up! Also, Erik is my book husband and I’ll fight you for him if necessary.

Practice Perfect series, by Ruby Lang

This series is just great! I liked the first book, Acute Reactions, then loved the second one, Hard Knocks, but my absolute favourite was the last one, Clean Breaks. The female main characters are all strong, Asian American doctors. I have a soft spot for doctors, nurses and such in my romances, so I was looking forward to reading this series. And it didn’t disappoint!

Eidolon, by E.S. Yu

I finished this book just this morning. One of the main characters is asexual, so I was really excited to read it. And I liked it a lot! It was very engaging, and I just couldn’t stop reading once I was completely involved in the story. So if you’re looking for more reads with asexual characters, pick this one up!

What about you? What have you read and loved this month?
